An ogee, bead, and cove-molded pediment with a sarcophagus and flat top surmounts the hood. The hood has a molded arch above the glass door with free-standing turned columns at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. On the left-side of the door is a keyhole escutcheon; the door opens to reveal the composite brass dial with an applied chapter ring. The dial denotes time via Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced and scrolled hour and minute hands. In the lunette is an engraved image of Father Time. The spandrels are decorated with applied cast ornament. Inside the chapter ring is an applied seconds dial, below which are winding holes flanking an engraved name plate inscribed: [Gawen Brown / King Street / BOSTON]. Ovolo and cove molding outline the base of the hood.  The hinged case door has an astragal top and bead-molded edges, as well as a shaped escutcheon with a keyhole.
