The curved back is arched along the crest rail, which is not upholstered. The front-facing edges of the back are faced with mahogany with decorative moldings and scrolled upper terminals. The molding continues onto the tops of the corner posts and down the front exterior therm legs. The lower sections of the corner posts have classically-inspired designs carved into or applied to them. The seat is slightly bowfront and is upholstered over the rail. Two additional front legs, of the same design as the exterior legs, support the seat. All four front legs terminate in cuffs with acanthus leaf carvings, therm feet, and castors. The chair has three rear therm legs with castors.
