The top has notched corners and cove molded edges and conforms to the blocking. The case is blocked in three sections, with a concave center section; the six drawers are arranged in two rows of three. Each drawer has quarter-round molded edges and a single bail pull on an escutcheon; an additional row of pulls and escutcheons lines the skirt. The skirt is serpentine with two turned spike pendants on plinths with cock-bead molding at the bottom. The cabriole legs have scrolled knee brackets, creased knees, and pad feet. The case is finished a resin varnish tinted reddish brown. The top is a single board, nailed to the top rail from below, with small glue blocks on all four sides. The case sides are tenoned and double pinned to the posts. The drawer rail is dovetailed to the posts; the drawer dividers are dovetailed to the top rail and the skirt and are notched to pass in front of the drawer rail. The outer drawer supports are nailed to the sides, using rosehead nails; the inner drawer supports are bevel lapped to the front and tenoned into the back. The drawers are dovetailed at front and back; the interior of the fronts are roughly hollowed to match the shape of the facade. The drawer bottoms are chamfered and set into grooves at the front and sides and nailed flush to the back, using rosehead nails. The legs and posts are a single piece; the knee brackets are glued into place. On the top, two plugged holes and the outline of rectangular fittings remain from where a dressing glass was once added. The upper backboard and a large portion of the upper right drawer support are heavily insect damaged. Many of the drawer lips are repaired, patched, or renewed. The pulls and escutcheons have been replaced at least twice; there are ghosts of a larger set of similarly shaped escutcheons as well as single holes for central pulls. The pendants are replacements.
