The frame of the cradle is nailed and screwed together at the headboard and dovetailed at the footboard. The sides are attached with screws. The headboard is attached with nails. The bottom is a solid pine board covered in a red wash. The footboard has a decorative, serpentine top edge. There is an applied base molding on the sides and end attached with nails. The bonnet is constructed of three pieces with a flat top and two slanted pieces. The pieces are nailed together and to the headboard and sides. The joints between the three pieces are glued with strips of fabric. The cyma curved bonnet skirt is attached to the sides with dovetails and nailed to the top. The sides of the headboard have a larger cyma curved profile. Two arched rockers, or bends, have shaped scrolls on the edges. The rockers are screwed onto the frame and reinforced with glue blocks.
