The bonnet is constructed of three pieces with a flat top flanked with two angled pieces. An arched bonnet skirt outlines the hood opening. The sides of the headboard are cut in cyma curves. The footboard, sides, and headboard all angle back relative to the cradle bottom. The lower edge of the cradle is outlined with applied ogee molding. Glue blocks on the underside of the cradle bottom join it to the frame. Two arched rockers, or bends, have cyma curves on their upper edges. The rockers are screwed onto the cradle bottom.
