The chair back has a curved, horizontal top, with carved ears. It has turned rear stiles, and seven turned spindles. The seat is saddle shaped, and carved from one board. Incised lines outline the back curve of the seat, framing and following the row of spindles. There are possible remnants of black paint on the underside of the seat, and traces of green and yellow paint on the seat?ÇÖs curved back surface.  All four legs are turned and tenoned through the seat. They are joined with an H-stretcher. Remnants of green paint are visible along the edges of the turned elements of the legs. The rear right leg has been restored with an unidentified material, possibly putty, which has been used to recreate three-dimensionality where wood has been cut away down the length of the turned leg. The right rear leg is 0.125 in. shorter than the left. There are numerous mold spores on the legs and stretchers.
