The two tambour doors have narrow reeds, round metal knobs, and inlaid bellflower swags with larger flowers at the center of each drape. Three inlaid pilasters of light and dark stringing with molded capitals and bases flank and separate the doors. The upper and lower cases are joined by molding. The top of the upper case has inlaid patterned banding around the edge and folds down to create the writing surface. The lid supports have round metal knobs. The two graduated drawers have cock-bead molding around the edges, a stringing outline, inlaid oval keyhole surrounds, and rope-twist round pulls on enameled round escutcheons from Bilston, England. The front posts of the lower case have inlaid pilasters of light and dark stringing with triangular ends with dots at the three corners of the triangles. The therm legs have spade feet with curved taper; pierced and arched knee brackets flank all the legs. The front legs have bellflower inlay with many three-piece flowers descending from a round drop at the top. The patina is original."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"10/17/2017"},{"label":"Materials","value":"Unidentified wood; Unidentified metal; Enamel"},{"label":"Style","value":["Federal"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Date range based on characteristics of design and construction."},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1790 - D:00 M:00 Y:1815"},{"label":"Basis of Origin","value":"Place of origin identified as Boston based on Stoneman's Seymour attribution, 1959.
