The rectangular back has rounded shoulders and slightly S-curved vertical stiles. The yoke-back crest rail has been replaced and is joined to the vertical stiles with mortise and tenons. The vasiform splat is curved for comfort and the back edges are beveled. The splat is tenoned into a shoe at the bottom which is nailed to the rear seat rail.  The trapezoidal seat is framed by four seat rails which are attached to the legs with pegged mortise and tenons. The front rail has an integral skirt with a central semi-circular drop flanked by ogee notches. Four replaced walnut corner blocks are nailed to the interior corners of the rails, and two of the blocks have screws through the top surface. The slip seat has been reupholstered in a modern white textile and some original horsehair padding is visible on the underside.  The front legs are cabriole and the rear legs are stump form. Ogee carved knee blocks with bead molded edges are attached to either side of the front legs at the top. The bead molding continues down the interior face of the legs in a shallow C-scroll, terminating in a slightly protruding scrolled bottom edge. The front legs terminate in pad feet with thick pads and the rear legs have chamfering on all for edges. The legs are joined by carved serpentine H-form stretchers and a spindle turned rear stretcher.  There is a repaired crack on the back of the splat near the base and a repaired break on the left side of the center stretcher.
