(59.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Mahogany Rococo Revival-style armchair with white pine as a secondary wood. The chair back is rectangular and curved with an undulating profile. The crest rail is straight with squared shoulders, terminating in a scrolled element at the back edge. The rear stiles are continuous with the back legs and composed of single pieces of wood. The seat back is upholstered between the stiles with a leather covering affixed with decorative nails on either side. The arms are mortise and tenoned to the seat and stiles and composed of two pieces. The top pieces are upholstered with original horsehair padding and leather covering, secured with decorative nails. The upholstery is severely ripped on both arms. A small rectangular curved insert on the arms supports the upholstery. The second arm piece is carved with an S-scroll and decorated with incised lines. The seat is trapezoidal and framed. The chair has two adjacent seat rails on either side. The exterior side rails and the front and back rails are mortise and tenoned to the legs. The interior side rails are mortise and tenoned to the front and back seat rails. A replaced dust cloth is nailed to the interior side seat rails and the front and back rails. The dust cloth sits on replaced webbing. The chair retains its original leather and horsehair upholstered cushion, which is removable and sits on the dust cloth. The chair has four sabre legs. The right front leg is reattached has been a screw.
