The tilt-top is an elongated octagon constructed of one board with two cleats screwed to the underside. The top rests on a block at the top of a pedestal. Two round tenons extend from the sides of the block into the sides of the cleats to attach the top to the pedestal. The pedestal has a cylindrical bottom with ring turnings and incised lines followed by a ringed urn center. The pedestal then tapers to a cylinder with ring turnings. The block at the top of the pedestal is attached with a wedged through tenon. At the bottom of the pedestal, there are arches cut in between the legs. These arches are not cut through the pedestal, but cut at an angle. Three legs attach to the bottom of the pedestal with sliding dovetails. The legs are cyma curved, tapering cylinders with a band of geometric light and dark inlay at the top of the feet. The legs terminate with tapering, squared feet that are continuous with the legs.    The top?ÇÖs latch no longer catches. When closed, the top rests at an angle. There is a break in the bottom of the pillar in between the legs. There are holes in the legs and the center of the underside of the pillar where a spider used to reinforce the joint. There is extreme sun bleaching on the top.
