The case is veneered. The upper section of the desk has a hinged writing surface. A batwing-shaped escutcheon with a keyhole is centered along the top of the lid. The lower portion of the case holds four drawers. The top drawer is set between lopers which have knobs. The other three drawers are of the same width and length. All four drawers have two batwing-shaped escutcheons with bail pulls flanking a matching escutcheons with keyholes. The edges of the drawers and the edges of the drawer slots have beaded molding. The base has decorative molding and rests on ogee bracket feet.  The back of the case is branded: [G. CADE].
