The screen has a rectangular frame constructed with mortise and tenon joints. The top rail is beveled at the upper front and back edges, not extending all the way to the corners. The back of the top rail has visible regular saw marks running across it. The screen has two spike finials that are pegged into the top of each side rail. The side rails are turned with rectangular blocks at the top and bottom and fluted cylinders between them flanked by decorative rings. A small acorn-shaped projection is applied to the bottom edge of both side rails. The case has four curved feet glued and mortise and tenoned to the side rails. The feet have two curved sections, meeting in a V-shape at a rectangular block. Small rounded projections are carved at the two points where each foot meets the rail. Four grooved blocks are attached to the top and bottom rails of the frame to accommodate the screen. They are screwed in from the underside of the bottom rail, but their attachment to the top rail is unclear. The screen is stitched with a multicolored image of flowers in a vase resting atop a column and surrounded by butterflies on a green background.
