The rectangular seat back curves back slightly. The chair?ÇÖs crest rail is arched with flat, squared shoulders. The rear stiles are continuous with the back legs. The stiles and crest rail have concave molding around the top edge with two inscribed lines outlining the shape which are carved out and notched to make a square above where the stiles turn into the chair legs. A horizontal splat rail is mounted just above the seat. Four equally-spaced, vertical carved slats are inserted between the crest rail and the splat rail. The vertical slats flare to trumpet shapes at the top and flare to small rectangular bases at the bottom. The fronts of the slats have a concave molding with inscribed lines on either side. The seat frame is mortise and tenoned to the legs. Two lines are inscribed along the top edges of the frame. The slip seat frame seems to be original, but the upholstery is replaced and the upholstery components inside may have been replaced as well. Nail holes are visible on the underside of the seat frame. There are four corner blocks present, but the two at the front have screw holes that may or may not contain screws due to the depth of the hole. The therm front legs are chamfered along the inner edge. There are two inscribed lines on the outer edge of the front legs. The rear stump legs are chamfered near the feet. All the legs terminate in castors. Stretchers are arranged in an H shape with an additional stretcher mortise and tenoned into the rear legs above the H stretchers."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"10/10/2016"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Chisel mark on the interior of the front rail at the center: [I].
