Surmounting the upper case are two ball-and-spike finials and a central gilt carved eagle finial mounted to the plinths of a sloped pediment. The upper case consists of double glass doors with reverse-painted glass tablets at the top featuring a bird on the left tablet and a rural scene on the right one, above painted panels of a foliate and oval frame flanked by bands of lattice pattern, above clear panes with cross-mullions. The right door has a keyhole on the left-hand side. Below the doors is a knobbed pull-out shelf. Decorative molding trims the base of the upper case. The lower case consists of a roll-top with a molded and veneered front, fitted with two engraved knobs. On the case sides are bail pulls and escutcheons. Below the roll-top is a single layer of two drawers, each with knobs flanking a central keyhole. Another keyhole is between the two drawers. The four turned legs are reeded and taper to cylindrical and reel-turned terminals. According to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston object record, the reverse-painted glass tablets are a later addition."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"1/30/2019"},{"label":"Materials","value":"Mahogany; Pine; Brass; Glass; Paint; Gilding"},{"label":"Style","value":["Federal"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Dated by DAPC based on style (1960)."},{"label":"Date (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1790 - D:00 M:00 Y:1800"},{"label":"Basis of Origin","value":"Attributed to Boston by Brock Jobe (2015).
