From the tablet to the back of the seat are seven spindles within two stiles, all decoratively grooved just a few inches above the plank. The shield-shaped seat is dished. Four bamboo turned legs extend from the bottom of the seat. Two side and one rear bamboo turned stretchers connect the legs. The front stretcher is plain and tapered at either end.  [J.
