A board hinged to the unfolding top opens to give access to the keyboard of 43 keys and the keywell. The board and the keywell are outlined in string inlay. To the right of the keywell is a frame of string inlay recessed from the corner. Four legs support the case. The legs are turned with ring-and-spool turning and gadrooning.
