The top is a single board with overhanging edges at the front and the sides. The top edge has an integral cove molding and is attached to the case sides with sliding dovetails visible at the case back.    The case sides are single boards with the grain running horizontally. A molding nailed to the squared front edge of the sides covers the joinery at the front. The molding is flat with a bead on the inside edge.    The case back is composed of two boards of white pine with the grain oriented horizontally. The boards are butt joined and nailed into a rabbet in the case sides.    The case bottom is a single board dovetailed to the case sides. An ogee base molding is nailed to the case bottom at the front and at the sides covering the dovetail joints. The skirt has a serpentine center drop attached by white pine glue blocks. The bracket feet are cut into a serpentine arch at the front and the sides and are attached with shaped glue blocks. The rear feet have a serpentine arch at the side attached with shaped glue blocks, and a plain arch at the back.    Four full-width drawers are arranged vertically. The drawer fronts are solid figured maple. The drawer sides are full height, and are attached to the sides and back with hand-cut dovetails. The drawer backs show evidence of hand planing. The drawer bottoms are let into grooves in the drawer fronts and sides. Wooden pegs join the drawer bottoms to the backs. The drawers rest on the original runners nailed into dovetails at the sides behind the drawer dividers. Three drawer dividers are attached with sliding dovetails. A molding with a bead on the top and bottom edges is nailed to the front of the drawer dividers.    The bail pulls and escutcheons appear to be original.    The top is attached crookedly, with patches of wood filling in the dovetail mortise at the front. There are unused one quarter inch holes under the front edge of the top.
