(36.8 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Federal-style basin stand constructed of mahogany, red oak, white oak, white pine, unidentified light wood stringing, and brass. Rectangular top constructed of a square, fixed, central board attached with glue blocks. This square board has a basin hole with molded edge that measures 6.75 in. in diameter. Two cup holes 2.25 in. in diameter flank the basin hole. The top board has an attached cove molding nailed to the front, sides, and back of the board. Two doors close on top of this central board. The doors are panel framed with mortise and tenon joints. The door fronts have vertical veneer with an unidentified light wood stringing outlining the edges. The square frame is constructed with mortise and tenon joints. The legs extend the length of the frame. All sides, including the back, are finished. Each side of the case is constructed of one board. The case front is constructed of two, vertical doors. The doors are one solid piece of red oak that is veneered with figured mahogany panels and outline banding. Below the doors, there is a single drawer that extends the length of the case front. The drawer front is solid and the drawer sides are full-height. The drawer bottom is constructed of two boards, let into a groove on the sides and nailed to the underside of the front and back. The case back is constructed of one, horizontal board attached with mortise and tenon joints. The door front is decorated with vertical veneer that is outlined in an unidentified light wood stringing. The legs are squared and attached with mortise and tenon joints. There is an X-shaped stretcher, which is half-lapped with a cyma curved edge and an applied ring molding. Small vertical supports attach the stretcher to the legs.
