The hood is surmounted by a molded, pagoda top with two columnar plinths supporting gilded urn finials at the front corners and a sloped, flat top center with gilt fretwork decoration on the tympanum. The molded, arched, and glazed door with an astragal top is hinged and flanked by three-quarter round, tapered colonettes with gilt mount and capitals. Behind the door is a composite brass dial with an applied chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and, in the lunette, a plaque engraved with the name of the clockworks' maker. Below the plaque is a silent/strike mechanism. Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial with a scalloped edge and a calendar aperture. Clock hands are pointed and scrolled. On the pediment and around the frame of the door is painted foliage in a chinoiserie motif. The base of the hood is beveled and cove-molded. The trunk has a molded door with an inlaid frame around the perimeter. Around the door is painted foliage in a chinoiserie motif while the door features a scene with buildings and people. The base is cove- and ogee-molded. The base, while also painted with foliage in a chinoiserie motif, features an inlaid, rectangular frame with rounded corners around a scene with a people and a house. The molding along the bottom of the base is ogee and stepped. According to Skinner, Inc., as of 1993, there are numerous imperfections including restoration to the top of the cornice resulting in a loss of height."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"1/19/2019"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Engraved name plaque not photographed, transcription provided by DAPC Staff (2001): [Moses Peck Boston]."},{"label":"Materials","value":"Unidentified wood; Brass; Paint; Glass; Gilding; Gesso"},{"label":"Style","value":["Queen Anne"]},{"label":"Basis of Date","value":"Approximate date of 1752 provided by Skinner, Inc.
