(60.3 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Chippendale-style, blockfront desk-and-bookcase made of mahogany primary wood and white pine secondary wood.  Surmounting the upper case is a broken-arch pediment with three flame-and-urn finials mounted to plinths at the corner and center, the plinth at center is molded. The cornice and the architrave are molded. The doors are paneled, ogee-scrolled and molded, flanked by fluted pilasters, with shaped escutcheons and keyholes. Behind the doors are pigeonholes with ogee valances, dividers, tall slots, and adjustable shelves, over a row of three small knobbed drawers. Inside the fall-front desk are small drawers, pigeonholes, shell-carved embellishments, and a central prospect door. Visible on the lid at top when closed is a shaped escutcheon with a keyhole. The lower case holds four blockfront drawers, flanked by fluted pilasters topped with half-round flame and urn finials, with molded edges, shaped escutcheons with bail pulls and keyholes. On the sides of the upper and lower cases are bail pulls. Along the base is decorative molding. There is a central, shaped drop on the apron and the feet are cabriole with claw-and-ball feet with shaped brackets in the spandrels. According to John S.
