The chair back?ÇÖs top is part of the bentwood curved outline and is tenoned into the horizontal arm rail. The back has seven spindles that run through the horizontal arm and are tenoned through the top bentwood outline but not through the seat. The arms are a single board that is separate from the bentwood back. Each arm has a long, oval-shaped hand hold with a chamfered underside. Each arm has an angle cut into the outer edge of the arm. There are two arm supports that are turned and incised to look like bamboo. The arm supports are tenoned through the seat. Behind each arm support are two spindles that are tenoned through the arm but not through the seat. The seat is a single board that is oval shaped with a pommel at the front. It features an incised line that outlines the arc of spindles. The chair has two front legs and two back legs that flare slightly outward. None of the legs are tenoned through the seat. The legs are connected to one another with an H-stretcher, and the legs and stretchers are all bamboo turned. The chair has been painted at least three different colors, since black, green, and red paint is visible in various places. The chair has lots of wear, particularly to the angled front surface of the medial stretcher, the pommel, and the arms. The arm rail has cracked and been reinforced with nails, and there are multiple repairs to the bentwood back as well."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"1/19/2019"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"None found."},{"label":"Basis of Materials","value":"The primary wood is ring porous."},{"label":"Materials","value":"Unidentified ring porous hardwood;
