A wooden pintle extends from the blocks into mortises in the cleats to create the hinge for the top.    The pedestal block is attached to the pedestal with a square tenon. A round spring latch (replaced) is screwed to the underside of the top to secure the top in the horizontal position.    The pillar is turned with a ring turning and urn at the base and a ring turning at the top. The base of the pillar has scalloped cuts between the legs. The cabriole legs are attached to the pedestal with sliding dovetail joints. The legs have scalloped edges under the knees. One of the legs has a loss where it is joined to the pillar. The legs are secured with a nailed and screwed sheet metal spider, likely a replacement. The snake feet have central ridges and are continuous with the leg.
