The circular head has a hinged glass door and a brass bezel which opens by a latch. The dial has Roman numerals and hands with arrow tips and a winding hole. Inscribed on the dial is: [Warrant[ed] by [William and first three letters of last name illegible]mens], but most of the text is worn away.    The throat has a trapezoidal reverse-painted glass panel set within a veneered frame. The panel is painted with classical motifs against a white background. Brass sidearms flank the throat.    The pendulum box has a rectangular reverse-painted glass panel set within a veneered frame. There is a knob on the left edge of the frame. The panel is painted with a white outer border, a classical-inspired inner border, and a central scene depicting five sailing ships in a harbor. At the center of a the panel is a painted oculus with gilt decoration against a dark background.
