The hinged, multi-board top opens to reveal the keywell and then, opening it further gives access to the hammer, strings, and inner-workings of the piano. The music rack has a double-ogee profile and is scrolled with a classical design around a lyre-shaped carving at center. The front corners of the case are rounded and carved. The bottom rail is carved with a rope design. The top of the four legs are gadrooned and molded. The thick legs are turned to give it a twisted form. The feet are carved and molded.
