Overall paint treatment appears to be black over green with indications of a red wash in some areas. Horizontal crest rail has serpentine curved top, flat bottom and terminates at each side with carved scrolls on the ears. Arms and arm rail are made from separate semi-circular pieces with a third curved, shaped piece laminated above. Seven spindles continue through the arm rail and are mortised and tenoned into the crest rail. Each arm has a baluster-turned arm support and two spindles. The arm supports are mortised and tenoned into the seat. Arms terminate with carved "fingered" handholds with small spirals on each side. The shaped saddle seat has a shallow cove that outlines the back section of the seat immediately in front of the spindles. Crisply turned baluster legs are mortised and tenoned through the seat. Arm support spindles currently protrude 0.365 inches (0.953 cm) above the arm.
