Crowning the drum head is a wooden chalice-and-spire finial mounted to plinth. The circular head has a hinged glass door and a brass bezel which opens by a latch. The iron dial has Roman numerals, hands with arrow tips, and a winding hole. Inscribed on the dial: [Warranted by Wm Cummens / ROXBURY].    The throat has a trapezoidal reverse-painted glass panel set in a frame with decorative molding. The molding is connected to small wooden blocks at the front corners of the throat. The panel is painted with classical motifs. Brass sidearms flank the throat.    The pendulum box has a rectangular reverse-painted glass panel set in a frame with decorative molding. The molding is connected to small wooden blocks at the front corners.
