Upper case: The case top is covered with felt on the interior and could not be examined. It has overhanging edges on the front and sides terminating in a half-round and cove molding. Below, a plain frieze is veneered with bookmatched mahogany and surrounded with a flat molding at the bottom edge. The case sides are composed of single boards with squared front edges, their joints obscured by applied strip covers. The upper case is divided into two columns of shelving with one central vertical divider. The front of each divider is faced with vertical mahogany veneer set into a recessed rectangle. Height-adjustable shelves are fitted into the interior with mahogany saw tooth strips applied to the central divider and the case sides. Each shelf also has a support strip fitted below it. There are six shelves on the left side and five on the right. A sixth shelf for the right side is stored inside of the case. The shelves are faced with cove and bead molding. The case back is composed of six boards: three wide panels separated by three thin boards forming half-lap joints. They run continuously through the upper and lower cases. The back is attached to the case with nails. The bottom edge of the upper case has a double bead molding around the front and sides.    Lower case: The top of the lower case is composed of a single board attached to both the upper and lower cases with screws. It has overhanging edges on the front and sides. The lower case has two upper drawers, four doors, and two lower drawers in the base, all adjacent to one another. The lower case sides are composed of two boards: one housing the interior behind the upper drawers and doors and another housing the bottom drawers.    The upper drawers are faced with horizontal bookmatched mahogany veneers surrounded with applied cock-beading. Each drawer has two glass knobs. The drawers are constructed with dovetails and the sides are full height. The drawer bottoms are each one board with grain running from side to side and chamfering at the front and sides. The bottom is let into a groove at the front and sides and nailed to the underside of the front and back. The drawers rest on runners, which are mortise and tenoned into an interior frame of secondary wood. The drawers have drawer stops at the front.    Below the drawers, the four doors are arranged with a central divider between them so that two doors are facing on either side. The doors are framed with recessed panels and veneered in the center with bookmatched vertical mahogany. The interior face of each door has an applied bead molding surrounding the central panel. A half-round astragal molding is attached to edge of both right hand doors. Each door is attached to the case sides with two brass butt hinges. The interior behind the doors is open.    There are two drawers in the base of the case faced with bookmatched horizontal mahogany veneers. The drawer fronts are long on their exterior sides in order to cover the case face. The drawers are constructed with dovetails and the sides are full height. The exterior long front sides of these drawers are constructed with nails. The bottoms are composed of single boards with grain running from side to side. They are chamfered at the front and sides where they are let into grooves. They are nailed to the undersides of the drawer backs.
