The stool may have been made by Chickering of Boston. Circular seat. The underside of the seat is composed of three boards. The top of the seat is upholstered in green velvet, which may be original to the stool. Braid is applied along the circumference of the seat. A ten-sided, veneered pedestal tapers toward the top. The pedestal has quarter-round molding at the base. The pedestal is attached to the underside of the seat with a large metal screw, used for adjusting the seat height. The pedestal is screwed and doweled to a triangular base with slightly concave sides. The corners of the base terminate in scroll feet with small bun feet on the underside of the scrolls.
