The rectangular case top is glued to the case. The case top has an applied quarter-round molding nailed to the sides and front. The top surface is decorated with veneer applied in large pieces around the perimeter and an inner inlaid band. The green leather covering on the top is a later addition with modern stitch marks and an outline of decorative gilding. The case sides, front and back are attached with pinned mortise and tenon joints. The legs extend the length of the case. The case sides are veneered. The case back is constructed of one, horizontal board. Some of the mortise and tenon joint pins are protruding in the back of the case. The case front is veneered with applied molding outlining the drawer fronts. The case front has one long drawer above three drawers of equal width. The drawer fronts are covered in vertical veneer. The outer surfaces of the drawer backs have visible plane marks. The tops of the drawers have a double bead molding. The drawer sides are attached to the front and back with dovetails. The drawer bottoms are nailed to the sides, front, and back. The drawers rest on runners that are set into a groove and nailed to the sides. The central runners are attached to the case back with mortise and tenon joints. The skirts on the case sides have valences of two cyma curves with a straight center. The skirt of the case front has valences of cyma curves with straight centers, including two sections with drops at the center. Four cabriole legs are attached to the case with pinned mortise and tenon joints. The legs have plain knee blocks with arched edges. All legs terminate with pad feet. The back right foot has a section that has been repaired or replaced. The veneer is a little haphazard with no book matched areas and several sections of mismatched veneer throughout. The brasses may not be original, but there does not appear to be ghosting or evidence of earlier brasses.
