The comb's crest is s-curved with volutes carved at the terminals. The five spindles that are tenoned through the bow to create the comb are smooth. The additional four spindles between the bow and spindle platform are bamboo-turned. The shield-shaped seat has a saddled contour. Four bamboo-turned legs extend from the plank and are braced by bamboo-turned H-stretchers.  The chair is painted black. Remnants of one large paper label is pasted underneath the seat. Fragment of a gummed rectangular label inscribed in ink: [28].  The right front leg, right stretcher, and center spindle is made of ash. The seat is made of white pine. The bow and crest rail are made of white oak.  [T.C.
