(233.7 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Eight-day movement tall case clock made of walnut.  The molded arch pediment features a sarcophagus top with central gilded bronze spread eagle finial and a pair of gilded urn finials at the front corners. Turned free-standing columns flank the glazed tombstone door, which conforms to the astragal arch of the hood. The door opens to reveal a composite brass tombstone dial, an engraved boss reading: [Sam'l Bagnall, Boston] and decorated spandrels in the lunette, a chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, an applied seconds ring, a calendar aperture, and an interlaced hour and a scrolled minute hand. Decorated spandrels around the clock face have an urn motif.  The top of the case has cove molding. The hinged door is astragal at top with molded edges all around. A shaped escutcheon is fixed to the left-hand side. The bottom of the case is molded and gives way to the base section.  The base has stepped bottom molding and it supported by a compressed bracket feet.
