The bow-back is continuous with the rear legs. An additional bentwood component is screwed to the underside of the crest and the seat rail. A short, horizontal component spans the two sides of the inner bentwood component just above the seat. Grooves along the surface of the seat back might indicate that the chair was once caned. Curved arms are screwed to the outer edges of the back and the sides of the seat frame. The frame of the round seat with flattened sides is composed of a single piece of bent wood bolted to the rear stiles and arms. Plywood with the pierced design of a five-pointed star within a circle is nailed to the top of the bentwood frame. Grooves along bentwood seat frame suggest that the seat was once caned. The front and rear legs are turned and flare outward above the feet. The front legs are slightly swelled at the center. The front legs are nailed to the seat frame. The rear legs are bolted to seat frame. A circular bentwood stretcher is screwed to the inner edges of the legs, approximately four inches below the seat.
