Constructed out of hickory, the grooved bow envelops seven slightly flared spindles, also of hickory, affixed to the plank. The shield-shaped seat, made of pine, has a saddled contour. The seat is incurved at the sides and rounded at the front corners with a center front pommel. The four baluster legs have vase-shaped, folded collar, and ring turnings and terminate in swelled and tapered feet. The legs are tenoned through the seat. Swelled stretchers fashioned from maple form an h-shape. The medial stretcher has disc-shaped turnings spaced around central swelling.  [S.J.
