Crowning the drum head is a brass eagle finial. The circular head has a hinged glass door and a brass bezel, which opens by a latch. The dial has Roman numerals and hands with arrow tips and a winding hole. Inscribed on the dial is: [W. Cummens].    The throat has a trapezoidal reverse-painted glass panel set in a frame with half-round molding along the edges. The panel is painted with classical motifs against a light colored background. Brass sidearms flank the throat. Pasted inside is a paper label for a clock or watch repairer and inscribed in pencil is a date: [Oct. 12 / 1980].    The pendulum box has a rectangular reverse-painted glass panel set in a hinged frame with half-round molding along the edges. The panel is painted with a light colored outer border, a thin inner border, and a scene of to ships in a stormy sea.
