The tall, narrow rectangular back is set between slim stiles with vase, ball, spool and block-turned elements and vase-and-cap finials. The pierced and plume-carved crest forms a lunette supported on a rail with central arch. A long, narrow splat with new caned center is flanked by carved volutes and plume-like S-scrolls. The lower rail of the back is embellished with carved volutes and scrolls along the lower edge. The trapezoidal seat has a molded top edge and new canework. Rear stiles below seat are block-and-cylinder turned, the feet formed of long blocks angled backwards and chamfered on the forward face. The turned and carved front legs have small vases at the top above long S-scroll supports and ball feet. Between the legs are double-vase and-block-turned rear and medial stretchers. The side stretchers have central blocks with vase-and-block-turned ends. A carved and pierced front stretcher has volutes and plumes along the upper edge and a central arch along the lower edge.
