(83.8 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"A Queen Anne-style slant-front desk constructed primarily of walnut veneer over pine. The lid has quarter-round molding around the edges, is bordered by checkered banding, and has three raised crotch walnut veneered panels with quarter-round molded edges. The center panel contains a carved fan. The writing surface is supported on lopers which are flush with the top drawer and is covered with an unidentified textile bordered with tape. The interior has four rows of drawers, each of which is outlined with checkered banding and has round metal knobs. The case is blocked in three distinct sections with sharp top corners and has four graduated drawers with cock-bead molding around the openings; the sides of the case are outlined with checkered banding. Each drawer is veneered with crotch walnut and has bail pulls; the keyhole surrounds are similar but not identical in shape to the escutcheons behind the pulls. Cove molding forms the top of a narrow skirt with a mahogany fan-carved pendant at center.
