(106.7 cm), Depth 25 in. (63.5 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Chippendale-style mahogany slant-front desk. A fall lid opens up into a flat surface on which to write. The desk interior is stepped with a lower, deeper tier of a wide drawer flanked by two narrower drawers and an upper, narrower tier of prospect unit, pigeonholes, and drawers. The prospect unit consists of two stacked, blocked drawers with inset shell carving flanked by two document drawers with applied half turnings in the form of a column with acorn. On each side of the prospect unit are two pigeonholes over a single drawer. There is a single, wide pigeonhole over a single, wide drawer at the left and right corners of the desk interior. All of the pigeonholes have notched, serpentine valances. All of the drawers are fitted with a single brass knob.  Below the desk surface, the case has an oxbow facade. The case has four graduated drawers. The uppermost drawer is flanked by lopers, each of which has a single knob. The drawers each have an inset keyhole surround two bail pulls with solid, shaped back plates. The lid has a single escutcheon of the same design as the back plates of the bail pulls. The molding along the side and front lower edges of the case follows the profile of the case front. There is a carved fan drop at the center of the case skirt.
