Fletcher Little states that the table and chest were eventually separated in their line of descent through the family but were reunited in the ownership of Herbert H. Hosmer, from whom she bought them. Sotheby's did not provide a specific list of descent for the dressing table, but for the high chest of drawers, they list the following: John Chandler (1720-1800) of Worcester, to his son John Chandler of Deer Park, Petersham, to his brother Nathaniel Chandler (1750-1801) of Deer Park, Petersham and later of Lancaster, to his son George F. Chandler, to his daughter Caroline (Chandler) Avery, to her grandson Herbert H. Hosmer of South Lancaster. (47 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"A dressing table with aspects of both the Queen Anne and Chippendale styles, constructed of cherry with white pine secondary wood. The top has quarter-round molded edges. The case has one long drawer over a row of three drawers. All the drawers have quarter-round molded edges. The long drawer has two bail pulls on escutcheons. The lower outer drawers each have a bail pull on an escutcheon. The central drawer has an inset blocked carved fan with a round metal knob at the base. The skirt is serpentine arched with flat tops and has a small convex arch at the center front; the skirt also has two turned acorn drops. The cabriole legs have bellflower carved knees and pad feet with thick pads. According to Israel Sack, Inc., the surface is \"old.\"  Between Nina Fletcher Little's ownership and Israel Sack, Inc. offering the table for sale, restorations were made. The pulls and escutcheons, not original, were replaced with a set that are of the original time period. Damage to the bottom right corner of the lower right drawer was repaired. The acorn pendants were replaced with a different design of acorn pendant.
