The bow-back contains nine spindles tenoned to the plank seat. From the bentwood extends s-curved arm rests supported by spindles and s-curved supports. The seat is shield-shaped and dished with a slight pummel at front. From the plank are four legs braced by h-shaped stretchers.  The underside of the seat is branded: [REUBEN / SANBORN / BOSTON].
