The straight, pierced crest rail is carved with a symmetrical leaf and putti design flanking a double crown. The crest rail is tenoned into blocks on the rear stiles. A horizontal rail, pierced and carved with leaves, is tenoned into blocks on the rear stiles above the seat. Three wooden rails, separated by narrow caned panels, are set between the crest rail and the horizontal rail. The outer rails are pierced and carved with leaves surrounding a central flower. The center rail is narrow and carved with a shallow leaf design.  The rear stiles are topped with acorn finials. The stiles, each barley-turned, are joined to the seat rail and continuous with the back legs. The trapezoidal, caned seat is framed with mortise-and-tenon joints and reinforced with screws. There is a repair in the front right rail where a large chip has been reattached. The front and side rails are decorated on the top and side surfaces with cross-hatching. The chair has four baluster legs, each of which has three blocks. The legs terminate in double-ball feet. A barley-turned stretcher connects two baluster-turned side stretchers, forming an H-shape. An additional barley-turned stretcher is set between the middle blocks of the rear legs. An elaborate pierced, carved stretcher between the two front legs echoes the design of the carved crest rail with symmetrical leaves flanking a double crown."},{"label":"Date
