(71.1 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Mahogany Queen Anne-style drop-leaf table with white pine as a secondary wood. When fully open, the tabletop is oval-shaped. The fixed top is composed of one thin rectangular board with rounded short sides. The demi-lune leaves are also composed of one board each and attached to the top with hinges. The hinges are missing some of their screws, and one is bent and detached, making it difficult open the table. The top has overhanging edges at the front and back. It terminates in an integral half-round molding around the circumference. The tabletop was once glued to the frame and secured with glue blocks, but the glue no longer adheres. It is clear that repair attempts have been made as glue drips down the legs. The frame is rectangular and thin with boards glued to each side in order to accommodate two gate legs with pegged knuckle hinges that support the leaves. Two metal hooks have been added to the interior of the frame. The side rails are mortise and tenoned to the two stationary legs at one end and to the short rails at the opposite end. The short rails hang down lower than the sides due to an applied curved piece attached to their front faces carved with ogee notches. The table has four cabriole legs that extend to the case top, two of which are gate legs.
