The front surface of the bentwood back is decorated with bead and cove moldings. The back of the chair has seven spindles. All but the three central three spindles are tenoned through the top of the chair back. The saddle-shaped seat is composed of one board. The underside of the seat is planed. A shallow cove outlines the base of the spindles on the seat. The seat rests upon four vase and ring turned legs. The stretchers, assembled in an H-shape, are turned with bulbous centers. On the medial stretcher, ring turnings flank the bulbous center. The chair was stripped of its original paint, evidence of which is still visible in some areas.
