The yoke-shaped crest rail has pointed ears and is divided into equal sections by five shaped slats that curve downward to join a light wood, sand-shaded fan set into the lower corner of the shield. The flat slats flare at the crest. Tassel-shaped sections taper toward the bottom and are inlaid with petals and light wood stringing. Rear stiles, which are continuous with the back legs, meet the outer edges of the shield midway up the sides of the shields. The stiles curve inward slightly at the top. The front edges of the stiles are outlined in light wood stringing, which arches at the top. The chair has rear stump legs.
