One of the labels is that of George Leighton; its size indicates it may be a proof. There are eight Lothrop labels in three different varieties: two on one sheet, but different in spelling, layout, etc. (three doubles and one singles in a group are different). A pencil inscription on the back of a plain large sheet seem to be: [Reed / two-profile frame / plain moulding / 1-50 / $100]. Pencil on the back of an E. Lothrop label (name missing) reads: [Nat Johnson / 3 M / $3.75 / Holiston]. Holliston is a town about twenty-five miles southwest of Boston. In total, including the label on the back of the frame there were nine E. Lothrop labels and one G. Leighton label.
