The chair has a crest tablet, continuous rear stiles, spindles, and turned legs. The crest tablet features a simulated carving achieved with a steam press of scalloping, gadrooning, and beading. Between the rear stiles, from the crest to the lower rail are seven spindles slightly splayed upward. Curved wooden side brackets are nailed to the front of the rear stiles to the top of the seat frame. The seat is framed from four pieces of wood and was originally caned; the cane is now missing. The legs are supported by three spindle stretchers between the front legs and two spindle stretchers between the rear legs and between each side and rear leg."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"10/17/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and Inscriptions","value":"Stamped on seat bottom: [P.
