The front edge of the top follows the serpentine profile of the case. The chest has four graduated drawers. Each drawer has a shaped escutcheon and two bail pulls with back plates of the same design as the escutcheon. The drawer openings appear to be outlined in bead molding. Molding along the side and lower front edges of the case follows the serpentine profile.
