The slant-front lid has a batwing-shaped escutcheon with keyhole centered along the top edge. The blockfront case has four graduated drawers; lopers, each with a single brass knob, flank the uppermost drawer. Each drawer has two batwing-shaped bail pulls and a central batwing-shaped escutcheon with keyhole. Stepped molding along the lower side and front edges of the case follows the profile of the blocking. William Ketchum, Jr. in American Cabinetmakers (1995), pg. 244, attributes the desk to Emery Moulton.
