The frame of the cradle is screwed together at the headboard and secured with a half-blind dovetail at the footboard not visible at the cradle sides. The footboard has a decorative, serpentine top edge. The sides are nailed to the headboard and attached to the carved bonnet skirt with half-blind dovetails visible only from the front. There are multiple adjoining glue blocks lining the vertical interior joints between the headboard and side rails. The headboard is an elongated hexagonal form with a bonnet made of four components: a flat piece at the center and two slanted pieces at either side enclosed by a decorative skirt. The interior joints between the three upper boards are secured with glue and covered with burlap strips. Aside from being dovetailed to the cradle sides, the bonnet skirt is attached to the top three boards with glue blocks. The left hand glue block is missing. The bonnet skirt is carved with a notched ogee decoration. The sides of the headboard have an enlarged cyma carved profile. The outer edges are carved with cove molding that appears to be integral to the cradle bottom. The cradle bottom is screwed to the sides and screws for two arched rockers or bends can be seen from above. The rockers are also buttressed with two glue blocks on the interior and exterior sides, some of which are missing. The rockers terminate in shaped scrolls. There are large Chippendale-style brass bail pulls on the outside of the headboard and footboard."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"7/23/2018"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and
