(36.2 cm)"},{"label":"Description","value":"Empire hat and umbrella stand constructed of mahogany with American tulip poplar reinforcements and repairs. Harp-shaped hat stand above the lower umbrella stand. The hat stand has a vertical, central, rectangular board that rises above the two side sections. This central board separates into two pieces of wood that divide and then scroll outward. Two S-shaped rectangular boards flank the straight central board with an outward scroll at the top of each. The sides each have three pegs. The central board has five pegs. Decorative, square molding is applied to the center board below the third-highest peg. Solid half-moons are applied to the bottom sides of the central board of the hat stand. The umbrella stand frame is demi-lune shaped with a top, curved rail that is connected to the bottom section with three legs. The ends of the rail curve inward. Each end terminates with a circle that has spiral turnings on the top. The bottom section is solid and concave. The back leg is a rectangular board that extends from the top of the hat stand and is connected to the lower umbrella base with a large dovetail that is reinforced with screws. At the base of back leg, above the umbrella stand base, there is an attached, quarter-round molding. The two front legs are baluster-turned that are attached with mortise and tenon joints to the top rail of the umbrella stand. The three bun feet are attached with mortise and tenon joints. A peg in the top right scroll is repaired with a reinforcing section of wood screwed in behind the board."},{"label":"Date Digitized","value":"5/25/2015"},{"label":"Marks, Signatures, and
