The chair back has a crest rail with curved shoulders and flat center with a shell carving. The rear stiles are ogee-curved and straighten just above the seat rail. They have flat front surfaces and taper slightly toward the crest rail. A solid, shaped splat is set between the crest rail and the shoe. The chair was made with a trapezoidal slip seat; the seat was not photographed and may be missing. The front cabriole legs have ogee-curved knee blocks, shell carvings on the knees, and terminate in claw-and-ball feet. The rear stump legs appear to be continuous with the stiles.
